Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly intending to come back with a second offer for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.
With Toby Alderweireld supposedly informing Tottenham of his desire to leave the club this summer, Nuno Espirito Santo and Fabio Paratici are said to be working on defensive incomings.
Spurs are reportedly close to wrapping up a deal for Bologna's Takehiro Tomiyasu, but the Lilywhites are rumoured to have their eye on another up-and-coming Serie A centre-back.
According to La Nazione, Tottenham have followed up their interest in Milenkovic by tabling an official bid, but the offer fell short of what Fiorentina were looking for.
The report adds that Spurs are preparing to try again for the Serbia international, but they will not touch base with Fiorentina again before July 25.
Milenkovic - who is also believed to be on the radar of Manchester United - scored three goals in 34 Serie A appearances for La Viola last term.
