Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly ended talks with Cagliari over a possible deal for Nahitan Nandez.
The 25-year-old's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, with Spurs and Leeds United both credited with an interest in the midfielder following his impressive 2020-21 season.
Nandez scored twice and registered three assists in 34 appearances at club level last term before representing Uruguay at this summer's Copa America.
A recent report claimed that Tottenham were closing in on the South American, who was set to spend the 2021-22 campaign on loan at the club before joining on a permanent deal next summer.
However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the North London club have 'definitely decided' to end negotiations with Cagliari for the midfielder.
Romano claims that Nuno Espirito Santo's side have instead switched their focus to Metz's Pape Sarr, who has also been linked with Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Harry Kane, meanwhile, continues to be linked with a move to Manchester City, but the England captain could make his first appearance of the season in Sunday's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
