Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly entered the race for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
Spurs have already strengthened in a number of areas this summer, recruiting goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, playmaker James Maddison and winger Manor Solomon.
The North London club have also signed Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro on permanent deals following their respective loan spells.
Tottenham are still expected to make further additions this summer, and they could be forced to bolster their midfield options with several players heading towards the exit door.
Tanguy Ndombele is believed to be closing in on a move to Galatasaray, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is also considering the future of Argentina international Giovani Lo Celso, who has attracted interest from Aston Villa.
With Tottenham determined to sign a new central midfielder, the Daily Star are reporting that Spurs are preparing to launch a move for Ward-Prowse.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the South coast throughout the summer following Southampton's relegation to the Championship.
With three years left to run on his contract, Southampton are looking to receive £40m to part ways with their club captain.

West Ham United have been pushing to sign the dead-ball specialist, submitting two bids, including their most recent £25m proposal.
However, they saw their offers rebuffed by the Saints and have now reportedly pulled out of the race to sign the Englishman.
Ward-Prowse, who has spent his whole career with Southampton, is not expected to push for a transfer due to his affinity with the club.
The midfielder played a crucial role in the Saints' opening day win against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday, providing the assist for Che Adams's late winner.
Ward-Prowse has scored 55 goals and provided 54 assists in 410 competitive appearances for the South-coast club.
