Tottenham Hotspur 'to dump Emmanuel Adebayor in January'

Emmanuel Adebayor moves closer to leaving Tottenham Hotspur after manager Mauricio Pochettino reportedly eyes a replacement.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly planning to offload Emmanuel Adebayor in January as he shakes up his strike force.

Only days after the Togo forward accused Spurs supporters of creating a bad atmosphere at White Hart Lane, The Mirror claims that the North London outfit are open to offers for the 30-year-old.

A stumbling block could be finding a club who will take Adebayor, who is paid £170,000 a week and has 18 months left on his current contract.

Pochettino is rumoured to be looking to bring Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez to White Hart Lane, while Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado are expected to earn more first-team opportunities should Adebayor be frozen out.

However, the Argentine coach may need to sell players in January in order to generate transfer funds.
