Stoke City striker Michael Owen is expected to be sidelined for an extended period of time after picking up a hamstring problem.
The 32-year-old has failed to secure a regular place within the Potters side since moving to the Britannia Stadium in September on a free transfer due to a host of injuries and lack of fitness.
"Michael was doing some work in the gym and just felt his hamstring," said manager Tony Pulis. "I think it was just the cold."
The former Manchester United and Liverpool frontman has played just 53 minutes of football for the Premier League outfit this season.
