Stoke City reject Kenwyne Jones's appeal against £75,000 fine?

Stoke City reportedly reject Kenwyne Jones's appeal against his fine of around £75,000 for refusing to play.

Stoke City have reportedly rejected Kenwyne Jones's appeal against a two-week fine for refusing to make himself available for selection.

The striker was hit with a financial penalty of around £75,000 after he sent a text message to manager Mark Hughes claiming that he would not play in Stoke's 5-3 defeat to Liverpool in January.

According to The Sentinel, the Potters refused Jones's argument following an appeal hearing headed by chairman Peter Coates.

Jones is said to have denied that he went on strike, but rather wanted to show his frustration at the club's refusal to offer him regular first-team football or sell him.
