Tony Pulis has insisted that Charlie Adam did not deserve to be sent off during Stoke City's 2-1 loss at home to Tottenham Hotspur earlier today.
The Scotland international was handed his marching order for two bookable offences - both made on Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen.
However, Pulis believes that the decision of referee Kevin Friend to dismiss his midfielder was a harsh one.
"I don't think Charlie has touched Vertonghen on the first one and on the second one he's made a mistake by sliding in but again I don't think he touches him," he told reporters.
"It's disappointing because I watch football day in, day out and you see some challenges that don't even get bookings, then you see two challenges like that one getting a sending off."
The defeat has left Stoke 11th in the Premier League table with one match to play.
