Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has praised Ignacio Scocco after the forward made his debut for the club in their FA Cup tie with Southampton.
The Black Cats made it through to the quarter-finals of the competition with a 1-0 win at the Stadium of Light, and Poyet paid tribute to Scocco for a great display.
"I think the idea with Nacho is to start slowly and get him used to the pace of the game – he will get into positions that nobody expects," he told the club's official website.
"He had a great 65 minutes and we'll look forward to seeing him on the pitch in the next few weeks.
"He knows how to see things, he knows how we move the ball and he just needs to get sharp and match fit - the rest he's got in the locker."
Despite their good form in cup competitions this season, Sunderland are currently 18th in the Premier League table.
