Report: Sunderland forward Duncan Watmore ruled out for rest of season

Sunderland's Duncan Watmore will be sidelined for the rest of the season after a scan today reportedly revealed a cruciate ligament injury.

Sunderland forward Duncan Watmore has been ruled out for the rest of the season after incurring cruciate ligament damage, according to a report.

The 22-year-old suffered the knee injury during last weekend's 2-1 win over Leicester City in the Premier League and had to be stretchered off.

According to the Daily Mail, a scan on Monday revealed the extent of the damage, which will keep him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Black Cats boss David Moyes has already lost Paddy McNair and Lynden Gooch to long-term injuries.
