Former West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce is reportedly yet to receive contact from Sunderland regarding the new head coach vacancy.
The 60-year-old is believed to be a leading contender for the position following Dick Advocaat's decision to resign from his post at the weekend.
However, according to Sky Sports News, the North-East outfit have not made any contact with Allardyce, who has been out of work since leaving West Ham in the summer.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche, whose team were relegated back to the Championship last season, is also believed to be a candidate for the role.
