Martin O'Neill: We were denied "clear penalty"

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill feels that his side were denied a "clear penalty" in their 2-2 draw with Fulham.

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill feels that his side were denied a "clear penalty" in their 2-2 draw with Fulham at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats were pushing for a winner late in the game when a cross in the area appeared to strike Phillipe Senderos on the arm, but referee Mark Halsey waved play on.

"There was the chance we were going to get a third goal but unfortunately it didn't transpire," he told the club's official website.

"I thought it was a clear penalty at the end of the game, Senderos handled the ball.

"We suffered last week to similar incidents – one given against us and one not given for us. It was a big moment in the game today and there needs to be consistency."

Sunderland are 14th in the Premier League following their draw with the Cottagers.
