Gus Poyet happy to work with Sunderland director Roberto De Fanti

Gus Poyet insists that he has no problem working with Sunderland director of football Roberto De Fanti.

New Sunderland head coach Gus Poyet has insisted that he has no issues with the management structure at the Stadium of Light.

The Uruguayan, who was appointed as Paolo Di Canio's successor on Tuesday, believes that he can have a fruitful relationship with director of football Roberto De Fanti.

"I've got no worries," Sky Sports News quotes Poyet as saying. "When everyone is working for the same aim, that is for the good of the club.

"I need Roberto and I need Roberto to do well for me because the better Roberto does, the better players I get. I think it's a relationship. You have to explain to him exactly what you want and for him to look for the players.

"I cannot do this job. I mean, the big ones I see every weekend but to find other players - well, someone needs to do it. This is our recruitment system."

The Black Cats, who currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League table with one point, signed 14 new players in the summer transfer window.
