Sunderland confirm exit of five players

Sunderland confirm that five members of the first-team squad will leave the Stadium of Light during the summer.

Sunderland have announced that a number of players will be leaving the Black Cats ahead of the next campaign.

Wholesale changes are expected at the Stadium of Light after relegation to League One, and the North-East outfit have confirmed that Fabio Borini and Jeremain Lens will be among the players who will move on this summer.

Borini will complete a permanent move to AC Milan after a successful loan spell, while Lens will link up with Besiktas on a full-time basis after making 32 outings this season.

Billy Jones, Marc Wilson and Kazenga LuaLua - as well as John O'Shea who has already joined Reading - will also be released after coming to the end of their contracts.

During the most recent campaign, Jones made 22 outings in the Championship, Wilson featured on 21 occasions and LuaLua made six substitute appearances from January.
