Sunderland striker Connor Wickham has extended his contract with the Premier League side.
The England Under-21 international's previous deal had been due to expire at the end of the season, which had resulted in reports that he could depart the club on a free transfer.
However, the 21-year-old has now ended speculation regarding his future by committing to fresh terms that have tied him to the Stadium of Light until the summer of 2019.
Wickham joined the Black Cats from Ipswich Town for £8m in June 2011. Since then, the centre-forward has scored 12 goals, five of which helped to keep the Wearsiders in the Premier League towards the back-end of last term.
