Swansea City's Angel Rangel takes responsibility for conceding against Hull

Angel Rangel takes the blame for Swansea City's defeat to Hull City last weekend after failing to stop George Boyd's header.

Swansea City full-back Angel Rangel has admitted that he was at fault for the goal that resulted in his side's defeat to Hull City last weekend.

George Boyd netted a header in the first half to give the former Championship side all three points at the KC Stadium on Saturday.

Swansea boss Garry Monk was critical of Rangel, who has claimed that he thought goalkeeper Michel Vorm was going to come off his line to collect the ball.

"It was just about a split second and I was too late," Wales Online quotes Rangel as saying. "It was one of those where I couldn't see Michel and I thought he was going to come out and get it.

"But it was my role to stop the winger from scoring. I reacted too late and I couldn't even stop him or block him. I'm experienced enough to say I should have stopped that goal and I'll take responsibility."

The Welsh outfit are currently six points adrift of the relegation zone in the Premier League table.
