Swansea City caretaker manager Alan Curtis has admitted that the squad needs to be strengthened in the upcoming transfer window.
The Swans have won just twice in 16 matches since August, leaving them only two points clear of the relegation zone at the halfway stage of the season.
Bafetimbi Gomis has been linked with a move away from the club next month, but Curtis is hopeful that the French striker will stay at the Liberty Stadium and be joined by a number of new arrivals.
"I hope he will stay. You see the speculation in the papers but the chairman certainly hasn't mentioned players going to me," Curtis told reporters.
"We probably need to bolster the squad, I'm not sure if we need to allow people to go out the door the other way."
Curtis also moved to calm reports that Jonjo Shelvey could leave the club in January.
