Swansea City to sign Patrick Bamford on loan?

Swansea City are reportedly considering a January move for Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford, who terminated his loan with Crystal Palace on Monday.

Swansea City are considering signing Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford on loan for the rest of the season, according to the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old terminated his season-long deal with Crystal Palace yesterday, describing his time with the Eagles as "terrible" after making just six appearances from the bench in the first half of the campaign.

Now the Swans are said to be monitoring his situation as they look to bring in more firepower in January.

The Welsh club, who are without a manager following the dismissal of Garry Monk earlier in the month, sit just two points above the Premier League relegation zone and have the league's second worst attack with just 16 goals in 19 games.

Bamford is also thought to be a target of Championship side Middlesbrough, with whom he spent last season on loan, but he is thought to be keen to remain in the top flight.

Meanwhile, the newspaper also claims that Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins is debating a deal to offload underperforming forward Bafetimbi Gomis, with offers of around £6.5m coming in from several clubs in the Middle East.
