Granit Xhaka: 'Switzerland have nothing to lose against Argentina'

Granit Xhaka claims that Switzerland have nothing to lose when they face Argentina in the last 16 of the World Cup.

Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka has claimed that his team have nothing to lose when they face Argentina in the second round of the World Cup.

The Swiss, who finished in second place in Group E, are back in action on Tuesday when they face the South Americans in Sao Paulo.

While Argentina are the favourites to go through to the quarter-finals, Xhaka is confident that he and his teammates can cause an upset.

"Argentina are indeed favourites, but that also means that we've got nothing left to lose now," he is quoted as saying by Shoot.co.uk.

"We will do all we can to survive against Argentina. It's only one match and everything is possible!"

Switzerland have reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup on three previous occasions.
