Half-Time Report: Torino cruising against Cesena

Torino ease to a 3-0 lead in the first half of their final fixture of the Serie A season against Cesena.

Torino have opened up an emphatic 3-0 lead over Cesena in the first half of their final match of the Serie A season at Stadio Olimpico this evening.

The home side tried to put their already-relegated opponents on the back foot early on as Maxi Lopez got himself in space inside the six-yard box, but he blasted the finish high of the crossbar.

It did not take Torino long to create another opportunity though, with Giuseppe Vives rifling the ball in from the edge of the box for Walter Bressan to parry into the path of Joseph Martinez, leaving the winger with a comfortable header.

Lopez made amends for his earlier miss to double the hosts' lead shortly after, rebounding the ball into the back of the net after Martinez headed onto the crossbar.

Torino continued to dominate the match, and made it 3-0 with just over half an hour gone when Marco Benassi unleashed a powerful strike from long range, and it found the back of the net off the inside of the left post.
