Jermain Defoe seals Toronto comeback

Jermain Defoe scores twice as Toronto FC beat Houston Dynamo 4-2.

Jermain Defoe's second-half brace sealed a dramatic comeback victory for Toronto, who found themselves 2-0 down inside the opening half-hour against Houston Dynamo.

Brad Davis had put the Texans ahead when he linked up with Giles Barnes on 13 minutes before giving the hosts the lead with a low left-foot drive.

On 30 minutes, the same pair combined as Davis tucked the ball beyond Joe Bendik.

However, the Canadians pulled themselves back into the game through Jonathan Osorio, before Dominic Oduro levelled the match on the stroke of half time.

Then it was left to Defoe to give Toronto the lead midway through the second period when a burst of pace saw him with only keeper Tally Hall to beat, which the former England international duly did.

Defoe then added his second and the home side's fourth to make sure of the points, which moves Toronto into fifth in the Eastern Conference.
