Ronnie Moore hits back at Phil Parkinson

Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore says that Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson tried unjustly to get Ian Goodison sent off at Valley Parade this afternoon.

Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore has hinted that Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson has let his team's recent success get to his head following today's League One clash at Valley Parade.

Ryan Lowe's goal with just over 20 minutes remaining sealed all three points for the visitors in what was an ill-tempered affair, with six bookings throughout the match.

Parkinson is adamant that Ian Goodison should have seen red for an elbow on Kyel Reid midway through the first half and claims that he was told it was only a yellow card because he used his forearm.

However, Moore disagrees with his opposite number and insists that it was he who got away with further punishment after shoving the Jamaican defender.

"Ian Goodison's booking had nothing to do with Reid going down," PA quotes the 60-year-old as saying. "Their manager got involved when he shouldn't have done.

"Phil Parkinson shoved Ian Goodison and Goodison has got booked for shoving their manager. The referee has seen one shove, but not the other."

Moore gave a clap to the Valley Parade fans as he left the field and claims that Parkinson told him "enjoy your win, but don't take the Mickey out of the crowd".

"I was upset by that - him telling me what to do," added Moore. "It looks as if he is getting carried away by Wembley and winning promotion."

Tranmere's win sees them draw level with Notts County at the foot of the League One table.
