Phil Parkinson blasts Tranmere Rovers tactics

Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson is adamant that Tranmere Rovers defender Ian Goodison should have been sent off at Valley Parade.

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson has slammed the "spoiling tactics" of Tranmere Rovers after they walked away from today's encounter at Valley Parade with all three points.

Ryan Lowe scored the only goal of the game as Ronnie Moore's men drew level with 20th-placed Notts County in League One, but Parkinson was less than complimentary about Rovers.

"They will feel they delivered a very professional performance, but they deliberately slowed the game down and were allowed to get away with it," PA quotes him as saying.

"This was a poor performance from the referee and the officials because they didn't do enough to negate Tranmere's spoiling tactics.

"We were disappointed with the goal we conceded. We got caught and that left Ryan Lowe with a clear shot."

The 45-year-old was also left seething when the referee did not show a red card to Ian Goodison for what he thought was an elbow on Kyel Reid.

"As soon as it happened I was certain it was going to be red, but the fourth official said it was a forearm rather than an elbow - that is why it was a yellow rather than a red," he added. "My feeling was that it was a straight red."

The result leaves the Bantams trailing third-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers by four points
