David Trezeguet to return to Europe?

River Plate striker David Trezeguet reportedly wants to move back to Europe to end his career, with either France or Italy as the likely destinations.

River Plate striker David Trezeguet could move back to Europe in January, according to reports in the Italian media.

The veteran joined the Argentine giants in January this year, although he is understood to be unhappy in South America.

The former Juventus man has struggled to maintain his form and has been criticised by fans, who believe that he is one of the main reasons behind the departure of coach Matias Almeyda.

The 35-year-old has been left disappointed by the treatment handed out to him and is thought to have decided that he wants to end his career in Europe.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Trezeguet plans to live in Monaco following his retirement, meaning that he would only consider a move to France or Italy.

A whole host of Serie A clubs would be interested in signing the Frenchman in January, although Monaco is thought to be an option also.
