Valencia confirm the signing of Russia international Denis Cheryshev on a season-long loan from Villarreal.

Valencia have confirmed the signing of Denis Cheryshev on a season-long loan from Villarreal.

Cheryshev had a spell on loan at Valencia during the 2015-16 campaign, scoring three times in eight appearances before completing a permanent move to Villarreal from Real Madrid.

The attacker has spent the last two years with Villarreal, and after scoring four times for Russia at the 2018 World Cup, has now joined Valencia on loan for the 2018-19 season.

"Valencia CF has reached an agreement this Tuesday with Villarreal CF, pending formalisation, for the loan of player Denis Cheryshev until the end of the season," read a statement from Valencia.

The 27-year-old scored four times in 32 appearances for Villarreal last term.
