Wales manager Chris Coleman has claimed that James Chester's move to West Bromwich Albion can only be good news for his side.
Chester left Hull for the Baggies in an £8m deal last week, and Coleman believes that the 26-year-old, who has formed an impressive partnership with Swansea City defender Ashley Williams on the international stage, will benefit from staying in the Premier League.
"James has been superb for us since he came into the squad in Holland last year," he told reporters. "It is a mark of what a good player he is that Ashley clearly enjoys playing with him.
"James is a Premier League defender, of that there is no question.
"Relegation will have hurt him, it's the sort of thing that stays with you forever, but having him playing at the highest level is only going to be a good thing for us."
Chester could make his West Brom debut when his new side get their Premier League season underway against Manchester City on Monday.
