Chris Coleman "not afraid" of Belgium

Wales boss Chris Coleman insists that he is looking forward to Tuesday's match against Belgium rather than being intimidated by the prospect of facing them.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has insisted that he is "looking forward" to Tuesday's match against group leaders Belgium.

Belgium have dropped just two points in an impressive qualifying campaign so far and secured their place in next year's World Cup with a 2-1 away victory against Croatia yesterday.

Wales, meanwhile, are still in danger of finishing bottom of the group despite their 1-0 win over Macedonia last night, but Coleman believes that his players should not be intimidated at coming up against a side ranked sixth in the world.

"I hope the Belgium boys have been out and done some partying. I wouldn't mind picking up the tab for that to be honest with you," Coleman told PA.

"But I am not afraid of it, and we should not be afraid of it. We are up against one of the best teams in front of a full house and they have qualified.

"But let's see what we can do, because that is how you find out more about yourself. It will be very tough but I am looking forward to it. We have bodies missing but we need to go again on."

Meanwhile, Coleman has denied claims that there is a rift between him and FAW chief executive Jonathan Ford.
