West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson has apologised for throwing away an armband worn in memory of late Baggies legend Ray Barlow.
Hodgson was seen to tear off the black armband and toss it to the floor after his side conceded a third goal against Newcastle United yesterday afternoon.
Speaking after the match, Hodgson admitted that it was an act of frustration.
"It is something I did without thinking out of pure frustration at conceding the third goal," said Hodgson.
"I meant no disrespect by it to such a great player, nor his family, and offer my sincere apologies if it has caused offence."
The Baggies went on to lose the match at the Hawthorns 3-1.
