Tony Pulis: 'I hope Saido Berahino stays at West Bromwich Albion'

West Bromwich Albion head coach Tony Pulis says that he wants striker Saido Berahino to remain at The Hawthorns.

West Bromwich Albion head coach Tony Pulis has said that he would like to see Saido Berahino sign a new contract at The Hawthorns.

Berahino has been continuously linked with a move away from the Baggies and has less than one year remaining on his existing deal.

However, despite previous suggestions that the forward wants to exit the club at the end of the campaign, Pulis thinks that committing his future to the Premier League outfit would benefit his out-of-form player.

The 58-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "It's only my opinion but it would be brilliant for Saido.

"Personally, I'd love him to stay. I'd love him to sign another contract and get himself fit and get himself fit and up and running again and clear everything away from him.

"He's had a couple of years - four or five transfer windows of uncertainty and that has affected him. For him to settle down and sign a new contract would be brilliant for everyone concerned at this football club and personally, for him as well."

Berahino has scored just one goal in the top flight since October 17.
