West Bromwich Albion beat Stoke 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium.

West Bromwich Albion have handed Stoke their first defeat in six games, winning 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium this afternoon.

West Brom's James Morrison went closest for the visitors in the opening stages with a shot from distance, which produced a fingertip save from keeper Thomas Sorensen.

The Scot tried his luck again with ten minutes to go in the first half, firing a shot from range and finding the back of the net to hand the Baggies the lead at the break.

Jonathan Walters won a second-half spot kick for the home side with 20 minutes to go, but keeper Ben Foster saved the striker's attempt.

Even so, substitute Cameron Jerome – unmarked – was able to find the back of the net for the home side with five minutes remaining from a set piece.

However, Graham Dorrans's free kick in added time confused the Stoke defence and found the bottom corner of the net to secure all three points, despite keeper Thomas Sorensen's call for offside.
