Andy Carroll praises strength in depth at West Ham United

Andy Carroll believes that West Ham United's strength in depth has played a big part in their strong start to the season.

Andy Carroll has credited West Ham United's strength in depth for their strong start to the season.

The Hammers are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table thanks to eight wins from their opening 15 games of the campaign.

With the club having added nine players to its ranks over the summer, Carroll believes that the competitive nature of the squad at Upton Park is having a positive effect.

"We have got a lot more players in there," the striker told West Ham's official website. "We have a big squad and a great squad to be involved in. We are all fighting for a place in the first XI and that makes the team a lot better.

"I think there is no limit. We can go all the way to the top. We have a great squad and I couldn't say we are going to give up now we are in the top three or four. We have got a great team and we can go all the way."

Carroll scored his first goals of the season on Sunday, netting twice during his team's 3-1 win at home to Swansea City in the Premier League.
