Premier League in numbers: Week 15

Sports Mole looks back on the 15th round of Premier League matches with a selection of facts and figures from each of the 10 encounters.

Newcastle United 2-1 Chelsea

The defeat on Tyneside saw Chelsea's unbeaten record of 23 matches come to an end.

The Blues had also gone 498 minutes of football in all competitions without conceding a goal before Papiss Cisse found the back of the net for the Magpies.

Jose Mourinho has never won on any of his Premier League visits to St James' Park as Chelsea boss, losing three times and drawing twice.

Hull City 0-0 West Bromwich Albion

Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor has now saved all three of the penalties that he has faced in the Premier League.

In terms of form, the hosting Tigers are without a victory in their last eight Premier League encounters.

As for visiting West Brom, the draw ended a run of four successive defeats.

Liverpool 0-0 Sunderland

For the second Premier League game in succession at Anfield, neither side managed to record a shot on target during the first half.

Liverpool have only scored six goals in their last seven Premier League outings.

Meanwhile, Gus Poyet's Sunderland have drawn nine of their 15 top-flight matches this term.

Queens Park Rangers 2-0 Burnley

QPR's Charlie Austin scored for the eighth time, which makes him the leading English goalscorer in the Premier League this season.

His contribution, before he was sent off, also helped the R's to win against his former club for the first time in 10 attempts.

Burnley suffered a defeat for the first time in five outings.

Stoke City 3-2 Arsenal

The Gunners have won on just one of their nine visits to the Britannia Stadium.

Arsenal's Calum Chambers committed two fouls during the match, both of which were punished with cautions.

Peter Crouch's opening goal for Stoke was scored after 19 seconds, which is the fastest in the Premier League so far this campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur 0-0 Crystal Palace

The draw at White Hart Lane ended a run of three successive London derby defeats for Palace.

The clean sheet was also the first that the Eagles have kept in nine matches.

Spurs have failed to win five of their eight home games this season, although this was their first draw of the campaign in front of their own fans.

Manchester City 1-0 Everton

Yaya Toure has taken seven penalties in the Premier League, all of which he has successfully converted.

His effort against Everton was the only shot on target during the first half at the Etihad Stadium.

Former City midfielder Gareth Barry, now of Everton, received his 99th Premier League booking - no player has received more.

West Ham United 3-1 Swansea City

Swansea's Wilfried Bony found the net in the Premier League for the 19th time in 2014, which is more than any other player.

Up the other end, two-goal hero Andy Carroll ended a run of 878 minutes without a Premier League goal.

The Swans have spurned 16 points from winning positions this season.

Aston Villa 2-1 Leicester City

Like West Ham's Carroll, Leicester frontman Leonardo Ulloa ended a goal drought at Villa Park. The Argentine had not scored in 684 minutes when he found the net.

However, his side were still defeated and are now without a victory in 10 matches, eight of which they have lost.

Having lost six matches on the bounce earlier in the season, Villa are now unbeaten in their last five Premier League clashes.

Southampton 1-2 Manchester United

Visiting United's return of three goal attempts was the lowest that they have recorded since August 2003.

However, two of those chances were converted by Robin van Persie, who took his Premier League tally of goals to 140.

Up the other end, Saints frontman Graziano Pelle ended a goal drought of 592 minutes, although it did not stop his side from slumping to their third loss on the bounce.
