Paulo Fonseca 'turns down West Ham United'

Shakhtar Donetsk head coach Paulo Fonseca reportedly rejects the chance to succeed David Moyes at West Ham United.

Shakhtar Donetsk head coach Paulo Fonseca has reportedly turned down the opportunity to become the next manager of West Ham United.

The Hammers are in search of a new head coach after opting not to renew David Moyes's short-term deal.

According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo (via Sport Witness), Fonseca held discussions with the West Ham hierarchy but has since decided to remain in the Ukraine with Shakhtar.

Fonseca has also been linked with a move to Everton, who sacked Sam Allardyce earlier today, but former Watford boss Marco Silva is believed to be the frontrunner to fill the vacancy at Goodison Park.

West Ham have pledged to appoint a successor to Moyes within the next 10 days.
