Slaven Bilic irked by lacklustre West Ham United performance

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic say that his side's lacklustre first-half display set the tone for their 2-1 defeat to Leicester City.

Slaven Bilic has said that his West Ham United side paid the penalty for a lacklustre first half in this afternoon's 2-1 defeat to Leicester City at Upton Park.

Shinji Okazaki and Riyad Mahrez netted twice before the break as the Hammers failed to build on their 2-0 win at Arsenal last weekend.

"It is a bad result of course after a good start," he told BBC Sport. "We didn't play good enough in the first half. We started well, but after that we were second best.

"We lost the game in the first half. Two-nil down is very difficult to come back from. We are very disappointed."

Dimitri Payet netted on 55 minutes to reduce the arrears, but the Foxes doggedly held on to make it two wins from two in the Premier League thus far.
