Jonathan Calleri: 'I'm close to joining West Ham United'

Deportivo Maldonado striker Jonathan Calleri says that he is close to completing a move to West Ham United.

Striker Jonathan Calleri has said that he is expecting to join West Ham United in the near future.

The Deportivo Maldonado player has just completed a loan spell at Sao Paolo but he appears to be on the brink of another move after admitting that he had undergone successful talks with the Hammers.

The 23-year-old told ESPN: "I will play at West Ham. It is now closed. I wanted to play in Europe. I just need the work visa."

Calleri, who has been called up to the Argentina squad for the Olympic Games, had previously been linked with both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
