Jose Fonte to leave West Ham United for China?

West Ham United defender Jose Fonte is reportedly close to sealing a transfer to Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.

Dalian Yifang have reportedly registered an interest in signing West Ham United defender Jose Fonte.

In January 2017, the Hammers paid Southampton a fee of £8m for the centre-back, who has gone on to make 24 Premier League appearances over the past 13 months.

However, after a spell on the sidelines, the 34-year-old has struggled to reinstate in the team and according to the Daily Record, Dalian Yifang are looking to take advantage of the situation.

The Blue Hawks have just regained their place in the Chinese Super League and are now looking to add a number of established names to their first-team squad.

Should Fonte be allowed to make the switch to Asia, the Portuguese will reportedly earn over £3.5m per year.
