Roberto Martinez was "disappointed" to see his Wigan Athletic side slip to a late defeat against Everton this afternoon.
The score was one apiece five minutes before the end, but late strikes from Apostolos Vellios and Royston Drenthe secured all three points for Everton at Goodison Park.
After the match, Martinez claimed that his side deserved more from the match.
"We're disappointed in losing the game but not in the manner of our performance. For long, long spells we looked well in control," he told Sky Sports News.
"Football is about taking chances and making sure that you don't concede goals.
"But today, apart from not being able to defend one set play and not being able to stop a cross in the second half, I felt that we stopped Everton really well and we were the team that looked like a real threat."
The loss has left Wigan 13th in the table, while Everton move up to eighth.
