Uwe Rosler: 'We didn't resort to route one football'

Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler puts his side's victory against Charlton Athletic at the DW Stadium down to the fact that they kept "playing football".

Uwe Rosler has put Wigan Athletic's late victory against Charlton Athletic down to his side's reluctance to resort to 'route one' football.

The Latics went behind early on through Marvin Sordell's goal for the visitors, but two late strikes courtesy of Jordi Gomez and Marc-Antoine Fortune completed the turnaround.

"Sometimes you need a bit of luck and we got that with the substitutions." manager Rosler told reporters.

"I didn't want to go long. The temptation is to do that, and we don't have the players to do that.

"For me, the only way we were going to come back into the game was by playing football, and that's the reason I made the changes I did."

Wigan have lost just two of their 13 games under Rosler since the German took charge.
