Carlisle United manager Keith Curle has conceded that he would like to sign Wigan Athletic striker Grant Holt on loan.
The 34-year-old has only recently returned to action following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a knee ligament injury.
In a bid to help the centre-forward step up his recovery, Curle has revealed that he is prepared to offer him regular football in League Two.
"It's something I will have a look at and see where he is physically and mentally," the Carlisle boss told reporters.
"He's experienced enough to know those Under-21 games are purely for him to get his match sharpness to do what he does best, which is leading the line."
Holt has not featured in a senior match since Boxing Day 2014.
