Owen Coyle eager to keep "main" players

New Wigan Athletic manager Owen Coyle insists that he wants to keep hold of the 'main players' in his squad this summer.

New Wigan Athletic manager Owen Coyle has insisted that he does not want to sell the 'main players' in his squad this summer.

Callum McManaman, James McCarthy and Arouna Kone are all rumoured to have caught the attention of Premier League clubs in the past few months.

"We want to keep the main ones, sure we do, but the chairman always said if the right offer comes in, he'd never stand in someone's way," Coyle told Sky Sports News. "It's a talented squad."

Coyle was confirmed as the Latics' boss on Friday.
