Kenny Jackett pleased with Wolverhampton Wanderers resolve

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett admits that he was delighted with the resolve his side showed to claim a 1-0 win over Watford in their Championship clash.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett has admitted that he was pleased to see his side show character to keep plugging away to earn a 1-0 victory over Watford.

Wolves missed several chances in the first half at Vicarage Road, but Nouha Dicko fired the visitors ahead in the 58th minute.

Watford made a strong push to score an equaliser late in the contest, but Jackett's men were able to hold out to secure the victory.

"I thought it was perhaps going to cost us because we had a lot of chances and were pretty dominant," Jackett told Sky Sports News.

"The second period was a bit more dominant, nothing really much happened and then we've got the goal I felt we deserved by that time.

"After that, Watford with their substitutions - I thought [Fernando] Forestieri made a difference - they came back into it and put us under pressure but I thought we showed fantastic character and heart; a lot of good blocks in that box and first to the ball to make sure we saw the game through and got the three points."

Wolves are ninth in the Championship following their win over the Hornets.
