Morgan defends manager search
Steve Morgan says that Terry Connor is the "right man" to keep Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

Wolverhampton Wanderers owner and chairman Steve Morgan has stated that there is no reason for the club to be "embarrassed" over the their search for a new manager.

The West Midlands outfit have come under criticism for their failure to land a permanent boss after reportedly interviewing Alan Curbishley, Walter Smith and Steve Bruce over the vacancy.

The Premier League side announced today that interim coach Terry Connor will take charge at Molineux until the end of the season.

"This is a very important appointment and this is not one you can make on a knee-jerk response," said Morgan.

"We have seen a number of people, nowhere near the amount of people that has been in the media.

"We went through the process and narrowed it down and it became clear from the way the players were responding to Terry that he was the right man."

Connor's first game in charge will be against Newcastle United tomorrow.
