Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to Newcastle United for their first Premier League match since losing manager Mick McCarthy.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head into their first Premier League match following the sacking of manager Mick McCarthy this weekend.

The West Midlands side travel to the North East to face Newcastle United under caretaker boss Terry Connor with no fresh injuries.

Loan signing Sebastien Bassong, who is sponsored by Sports Mole, could make a return to the lineup after recovering from a hamstring injury picked up during Wolves' 5-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile, Magpies boss Alan Pardew has Cheick Tiote available following his campaign with the Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations, as well as Ryan Taylor, who is expected to return from a leg injury that kept him out of Newcastle's 5-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

French midfielder Yohan Cabaye is likely to come back into the fold following a three-match ban, with Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse leading the line up front.

Current form:

Newcastle: WLLWWL
Wolves: DLLLWL

Possible lineups:

Newcastle: Krul; Simpson, Williamson, Collocini, Santon; Taylor, Guthrie, Cabaye, Guttierez; Ba, Cisse

Wolves: Hennessey; Ward, Johnson, Bassong, Foley; Edwards, Jarvis,O'Hara; Ebanks-Blake, Fletcher, Doyle

Sports Mole says: 2-1
