Wolves hope fans will "line the streets" for Sir Jack Hayward's funeral

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey hopes that fans will "line the streets" to pay their respects to Sir Jack Hayward on the day of his funeral on Tuesday.

Wolverhampton Wanderers chief executive Jez Moxey is hopeful that supporters will "line the streets" to pay their respects to Sir Jack Hayward on the day of his funeral on February 3.

The club's former owner will be laid to rest at St Peter's Collegiate Church on Tuesday after making his way from Molineux Stadium, where fans have been invited to attend.

"Space inside the church is limited but a large number of Wolves supporters will be there following a ballot which will take place shortly from all who those who expressed an interest in attending," Moxey told the club's official website.

"We are also opening the Billy Wright stand for fans, and the public, to see Sir Jack leave pitch side on his final journey with the funeral cortege to St Peter's Church. We hope fans will come to Molineux in large numbers for this poignant occasion.

"We hope fans will line the streets of the route and then head to Queen's Square, where a big screen will be erected to allow those unable to be inside the Church to be part of the service."

Hayward passed away at the age of 91 on January 13.
