Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo says that the Championship leaders will only sign established players during the January transfer window.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has suggested that he is "very clear" with what business he wants to conduct in the January transfer window.

The Championship leaders have been linked with a wide range of names ahead of the start of 2018, and Nuno is likely to target a new right wing-back and striker when the market opens next month.

However, the Portuguese has indicated that he will only bring in a player who is able to add something different to his first-team squad.

The 43-year-old is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "We are very clear, we know exactly what we have to do.

"We know which way we have to go and the decisions we're going to make will be made with a lot of thinking time, a lot of consideration and a lot of dialogue knowing that we still have a long way to go and we cannot make any kind of mistakes.

"I come to the squad of Wolves in this moment a player has to be something that gives us an increase of quality and different characteristics that we don't have."

Wolves can move seven points clear at the top of the standings with a win over Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night.
