Former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says that he would like to take charge of a side at the 2014 World Cup.

Roberto Mancini has revealed that he would like to take charge of an international side at next year's World Cup in Brazil.

The Italian manager is out of work after being fired from his post at Manchester City last month.

Mancini told Sky Sports News: "I want to go back on the bench, maybe even with a national team towards the 2014 World Cup.

"I have already had some contacts. The important thing is that it is something exciting."

Manuel Pellegrini was confirmed as Mancini's successor at the Etihad Stadium earlier today.
