New Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Brian Kidd will remain as a member of the coaching staff during his reign at the Etihad Stadium.
The former Premier League champions confirmed the appointment of the Chilean coach, who was widely tipped to replace Roberto Mancini, on a three-year contract.
"It is important to me that Brian remains part of the coaching team," Pellegrini told the club's official website.
"He has great football knowledge, knows the league, the players and will be a big part of what we try to achieve. We have spoken and we are all excited to work together."
The former Malaga boss, who will begin work at City on June 24, will have Ruben Cousillas alongside him as first-team coach, while goalkeeping coach Xabier Mancisidor and club and fitness coach Jose Cabello have also joined the set-up.
