Monza's F1 future may have come to a head during a meeting in Milan late this week.

Monza's Formula 1 future may have come to a head during a meeting in Milan.

Amid Monza's troubled negotiations with Bernie Ecclestone, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the F1 supremo travelled to Milan to meet with Lombardy president Roberto Maroni.

The report added that, at the regional headquarters, Ecclestone's long-time business and personal confidante Flavio Briatore was also present, as well as Lombardy deputy Fabrizio Sala.

"During the meeting, which was very friendly, the future of the Grand Prix at Monza was discussed," read an official note.
