Romain Grosjean handed grid penalty

Lotus's Romain Grosjean is demoted two places to 10th on the grid for the Malaysian Grand Prix for an infraction in the pitlane during qualifying.

Romain Grosjean has been demoted to 10th on the grid for tomorrow's Malaysian Grand Prix after being handed a two-place penalty for a pitlane infraction.

The Lotus driver jumped the queue during the second part of the rain-affected qualifying session in Sepang this morning, before eventually qualifying in eighth.

Reacting to his demotion on Twitter, the Frenchman said: "Good qualifying for us again. Happy with the way we are going and the way the car [progressed]. Let's sweat for a good race tomorrow.

"Gutted about the two grid places penalty. Long race tomorrow we will get those back."

Grosjean was unable to finish the season-opening Australian Grand Prix after qualifying in ninth.
