Lewis Hamilton: 'I always felt in control'

Lewis Hamilton believes that he always had full control of the race as he claimed victory ahead of Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg in the Canadian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he always felt in control of the race as he claimed victory in the Canadian Grand Prix.

The Mercedes driver led from the front and put in a solid drive to ensure that teammate Nico Rosberg could not pass him before securing his win by 2.2 seconds.

Hamilton revealed that he enjoyed the race following his disappointment in Monaco when a team decision cost him victory.

He told Sky Sports News: "I didn't feel like I had the most comfortable balance. Generally I had a lot of understeer; I never felt too much under pressure but Nico was quick, but I always felt under control.

"I felt like I had a bit of time in my pocket to pull it out when I needed to. It was never too serious.

"It was a great race. I don't know what it was like to watch, but it felt intense. I really enjoyed it."

Hamilton holds a 17-point lead in the drivers' championship over second-placed Rosberg.
