World number one Tiger Woods believes that he is still in the hunt for the US PGA Championship, despite carding 71 for his opening round at Oak Hill.
The 14-time Major champion, who won resoundingly at Firestone last week, is six shots off leaders Adam Scott and Jim Furyk, but said that he was not too displeased with the way he played.
"I'm still right there," Woods told reporters. "As of right now, I'm only six back and we have a long way to go.
"The round realistically could have been under par easily. I feel like I played well today and made some nice key putts and the key is I left it in all the good spots too."
Woods has not won a Major title since the 2008 US Open.
